While Bingo hall is not the first place you'd consider for a girl's night out, don't haste to revoke this option. Last week my friends and I have decided to renew our girly get together which used to prevail on Friday evenings in some local hazy bar. This time however, coaxed by my ludicrous adherence to places that proudly brag with their "in" title, we've decided to veer ourselves towards the new and the unknown. True, we may have been somewhat detached from the sporting activities even those that do not require any limb movements, but our spirit, I thought, would seam our educational holes and cover up our inexperience. Moreover, this was meant to be the pre-play for the long evening night that could have successfully ended up in another flashy bar. In any case we strolled down to Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Gala Bingo hall.

A parking lot flanked by KFC and Poundstrecher did not look too promising of a setting, but once we checked the interior atmosphere, ordering a few bottles of fizz, getting comfy at a private VIP booth, a sigh of relief oozed simultaneously from all of us. My head was spinning from the amount of people and cigarette smoke coming up from all  possible directions. At quite a few tables I tracked down the hunched female figures of twenty something. And so we've humbly arranged our game cards, fully alert for the upcoming action. We were still in the midst of the game when the clock hand passed far behind the midnight and so we ended the night away from the trendy cocktail bar, for the first time in our lives.
